My last year’s vacation was just crazy! No, I didn’t parachute, I didn’t fight with football fans, I didn’t hang out in the best night clubs. I did a much crazier thing. I went on a trip to Europe with my parents. My parents are already old and have never been abroad. They were not allowed to go abroad in the USSR, and then our family was in poverty. And last year I decided to rectify this situation - I applied for dad and mom visas, bought tickets and took the elderly out for a vacation. Traveling with parents is more interesting than traveling with friends. Elderly people are like children, especially when they find themselves in unusual situations. When we flew from Gdansk to, our parents tried to pretend that they were not afraid to fly, but fussed all the time. And during take-off, they joined hands. That was very sweet.

Milan

From Gdansk to Milan by plane

We traveled to Gdansk by bus. It’s not far from ours to go here. We walked around the city a bit, sat in a cafe and immediately went to the airport. Tickets were bought two months before the trip, so all that was left was to go through registration and board the plane. Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport located 20-30 minutes from the city center. You can get there in several ways:

  • By taxi. On a trip, I tried not to torment the elderly with public transport and often used taxi services. A trip to the airport from the city center cost us 45 PLN (10 euros). Of this amount, 8.5 zlotys you give for landing, the rest - for the road.
  • By bus. From the railway station Gdansk-Glavny to the airport goes bus number 210. Is there some more bus number 110, you can take it on near the railway station Gdansk-Wrzeszcz. Tickets cost 3.4 PLN.
  • By train. Trains to the airport leave from the same stations as buses: Gdansk-Glavny and Gdansk-Wrzeszcz. Trains rarely run from the Main Railway Station - about once every two hours, so plan your trip in advance. Tickets cost about the same as a bus.

Gdansk Airport

Two airlines fly from Gdansk to Milan: Wizzair and Ryairair. Both companies are low-cost airlines: they have very cheap ticketsbut you will have to pay extra for baggage and seat selection. Departures are every day except Monday and Thursday. I advise you to buy tickets from Wizzair - the prices at this company are slightly cheaper and you can immediately issue a Wizzaair Discount club club card.

Wizzaair discount club gives a discount on flights and baggage. You can make the simplest discount, it costs 30 euros and is valid for a year. The most interesting thing is that at a discount two passengers can fly at once. You can arrange a group discount, at such a discount you can carry another five people with you. If you fly back and forth by Wizzaair, be sure to apply for this discount - save on tickets.

Flight to Milan takes two hours. Low-cost airlines land at the airport, this in 45 kilometers from the cityFrom the airport to Milan you can get to:

  • The bus. You can catch a bus directly from the terminal to Milan Central Station. Buses run every 20 minutes, the journey takes an hour.
  • The train. Traveling to Milan by train is not convenient. First you need to get by bus to the railway station, and only then by train to Milan itself.

Whichever way you choose, the fare will cost about 4-5 euros per person.

From Gdansk to Milan by land

You can get from Gdansk to Milan by land. There are trains and buses for this. But this is a long and difficult route. Have to do transfers, stops and breaks. The road will take at least a day, and the money will take a whole bucket. This is also an interesting route, but this is another story. Here you can come up with a hundred different options for the path, so I will not consider this method.

Finally

The most important thing when buying plane tickets is to keep track of the dates. We saw cheap tickets for the right date - buy immediately! Such tickets can be taken apart quickly. AND carefully read the flight conditions: what you can take with you, what size hand luggagewhether it is possible to choose seats in the cabin. Special pay attention to online registration, it may be required. If you do not check in for your flight over the Internet, pay a fine.
